Grass Clippings:
The Fall weather has been very mild, almost perfect for
playing golf. This weather pattern has continued and as I
write this article, this week will see temperatures near 70.
It looks like we are in for a mild winter and above average
temperatures.
The greens have been painted just in time for your holiday
guests. This winter coat of paint is not only a better alternative
to traditional overseeding, but helps attract the sun
and warm the soil. The soil at a depth of 3 inches is three
to four degrees warmer.
Winter projects include scraping and removing the rock
areas in our wooded areas between golf holes. Seeding
fescue into these areas will be an attractive look and help
stabilize the soil.
Striving for better golf,
