Grass Clippings:
The Fall weather has been very mild, almost perfect for playing golf. This weather pattern has continued and as I write this article, this week will see temperatures near 70. It looks like we are in for a mild winter and above average temperatures.
The greens have been painted just in time for your holiday guests. This winter coat of paint is not only a better alternative to traditional overseeding, but helps attract the sun and warm the soil. The soil at a depth of 3 inches is three to four degrees warmer.
Winter projects include scraping and removing the rock areas in our wooded areas between golf holes. Seeding fescue into these areas will be an attractive look and help stabilize the soil.
